What we do / Substance Use Recovery

Compassionate Counseling & Tools to Help You Overcome Your Addiction

Our Recovery and Wellness team knows that when someone is struggling with addiction, the world can feel smaller and more unstable than it used to be. It can be especially hard if the addiction has taken a toll on someone's family, job, or physical health.

It can be challenging to admit we need added support and there can be shame around reaching out to take the first step in recovery. At La Familia, we welcome all people (teens and adults) who find themselves in this situation and provide no-cost individual and group treatment for all forms of substance use.

We match you up with a counselor who can help you create a plan, set personalized goals, and identify the right level of support for you. Sometimes this includes residential services, either for men at El Chante, our residential treatment, or for women and adolescents with our partner organizations.  As you work with our team to build stability, we will help you think through triggers and intense situations to help you avoid relapse and build tools to maintain your sobriety and live your best life.

Our counselors are drawn to this work through their own personal experiences and the desire to make an impact on the communities they live in. As a result, they create inviting spaces where you can share openly and feel like you belong. Each counselor has trained and practiced for several years in the field.

Looking for health services?

The first day, adapting to something like El Chante was very new for me but as I stayed the meetings began to help me a lot.

There, you’d be able to get to know everyone and learn everyone’s stories which is where I learned that I wasn’t alone and that other guys were working through the same problems I had and that helped me a lot.
