Caitlin Wallace

Director of Recovery and Wellness

Caitlin Wallace is the Director of the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program at La Familia Counseling Service, serving communities across Alameda County. With more than five years of experience in substance use treatment, Caitlin has developed a career rooted in compassionate, culturally responsive care for communities most impacted by systemic inequities. Her work centers on supporting individuals navigating substance use challenges while also addressing the social, cultural, and structural factors that influence recovery.

Caitlin began her career working directly with clients in outpatient substance use treatment, where she developed a strong foundation in person-centered care and harm reduction–informed approaches. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, East Bay and completed her Chemical Dependency Studies certification through the same institution. She is a certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor and has dedicated her professional development to strengthening trauma-informed, culturally responsive treatment practices.

In her current role as Director, she oversees outpatient, residential and youth SUD treatment services operating out of East Oakland, supporting multidisciplinary teams that serve a highly diverse population.
