Ana Reyes

Director of Community Mental Health Support

Ana obtained her Masters in Social Work in 2020 and has over 10 years of experience working in nonprofits and community-based organizations. Ana is passionate about understanding how policy affects public welfare and individuals, and in engaging the power of the community to find solutions that help increase equity and justice.

Previous to joining La Familia, Ana worked as a bilingual clinician providing family therapy to youth and families impacted by probation in Alameda County. Ana has also worked as a Program Director in San Diego supporting individuals with memory impairments and their family caregivers. While in graduate school, Ana provided case management and workshops for asylum seekers in Tijuana at the US-Mexico border, where she supported women and children from all over the world, including Haiti, Central America, Afghanistan, and Cameroon. She also has experience working with foster youth and in elementary schools providing behavioral and mental-health support. Her interests and passions were heavily influenced by seeing her parents, who were both teachers, support and advocate for migrant families.

Ana considers herself a community organizer at heart, and is honored to be part of a team that provides needed resources to diverse communities.
