What we do / Mental Health
High Quality, Culturally Sensitive Counseling & Other Supports with You in Mind
We know that life can be stressful, especially when people are struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. It can be especially hard and frightening when it is your children who need the support.
Navigating the systems and finding a counselor that feels like a good fit and speaks your language can be overwhelming. We work with these families to provide no-cost counseling for adults and children and can provide psychiatry services and other support when necessary.
We can help you and your kids work thorough difficult emotions and experiences, create new habits, and find a route that gets you where you want to be. We partner with some schools to work with kids on campus, with specialized support for youth who have immigrated recently.
For adults, we have created Alameda County’s first peer respite home, a safe space for people who are experiencing an intense emotional crisis and need to take a breath from their everyday lives.

Our therapists and peer counselors come from a place of compassion and have the training and experience needed to get you to a place of relief and calm.
Looking for health services?
A lot of times we’re ostracized for having tough issues, but here they make it so like it’s just another normal thing we all work through together
and so I DO feel better after being here at Sally’s Place and I really hope that there will be more Peer Respite Homes like this to follow for others.
