Jennifer Ellis, MPA
CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER
is with La Familia’s Education and Employment Services, also called East Bay Community Services, also serves as the Project Director for the Ashland Cherryland and Together collaborative, a substance abuse prevention initiative emphasizing community-level change. After graduating from the University of California at Davis, Jennifer has devoted her career to building dynamic programming based on positive youth development principles, including the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets and the Youth Development Framework for Practice. Jennifer has 10 years of experience in nonprofit work in the Sacramento region and relocated in 2014 to the San Francisco Bay Area to join La Familia’s team. Jennifer is committed to social justice causes, especially the disruption of generational cycles of poverty and increasing access to post-secondary education for low-income youth, and has acted as a mentor to young people with incarcerated parents.
